The filter method of preparing coffee has long ceased to be just for hipsters. With it, we start the day slower, more consciously and deliciously. Young people appreciate it for its aesthetics and purity of taste, older people for its tenderness and complexity without bitterness. Perfect filter coffee is no accident

Smooth, aromatic, balanced – but only if it’s prepared correctly. Poorly prepared coffee can be bitter, watery or boring. That’s why at Ørin we share the knowledge so you can start every day with a smile and perfect taste.

Choose your preparation method

  • Chemex – elegant, classic, for a crystal clear taste.
  • V60 – minimalist, precise, for perfect extraction.
  • AeroPress – compact, innovative, for a fast and intense experience.

Each method has its own charm. But it all starts with the right beans and roasting method.

Roasting: the heart of every cup

  • Lightly roasted coffee – ideal for making coffee. Higher density of beans, preparation at 90–95 °C. Flavors: fruit, citrus, flowers. Pure elegance.
  • Medium roast coffee – more body, less acidity. Brewed at 85–90 °C. Flavors: chocolate, nuts, caramel. A warm embrace in a cup.
  • Dark roasted coffee – be careful! Fragile beans, preparation at a lower temperature (approx. 80 °C). Often bitter taste. Rarely the right choice for filter coffee.

Our advice: start with a light or medium roast coffeeA cup of coffee deserves freshness, and you deserve a perfect experience.

Making filter coffee like a barista

Basic rule: coffee : water ratio = 1:15 (e.g. 10 g coffee to 150 g water).

Chemex

1. Heat the water to 92 °C.
2. Rinse the filter paper with hot water.
3. Add coffee.
4. Pour over twice the amount of water (blooming, 30–40 sec).
5. Continue pouring slowly in a spiral.
6. Once everything is filtered, remove the paper and enjoy.
Preparation time: 3–4 min. Taste: clean, balanced, multidimensional.

AeroPress

1. Heat the water to 92 °C.
2. Rinse the filter paper.
3. Add 10 g of coffee and 150 g of water.
4. Blooming 30–40 sec, stir, close.
5. After 60 seconds, press gently.
Preparation time: 2 min. Taste: intense, but not bitter.

V60

1. Heat the water to 92 °C.
2. Rinse the filter paper.
3. 10 g of coffee in paper.
4. Blooming: twice the amount of water, 30–40 sec.
5. Slowly add the remaining water in a spiral.
Preparation time: 3 min. Taste: delicate, balanced, with a hint of sweetness.
